Inhoudelijk contrasterende beelden als memes, geanimeerde gifjes, kattenplaatjes en protestbeelden zijn dagelijks en vaak zelfs naast elkaar op sociale media aanwezig. Bij het ontwerp van het boek ligt de nadruk voornamelijk op de inhoud. De structuur en opmaak van het boek biedt op een overzichtelijke manier inzicht in de materie. De eerste Sikkensprijs werd toegekend aan Gerrit Rietveld in 1960. We hebben zijn rode en blauwe stoel gestript en deze vervolgens als basis gebruikt voor 10 verschillende stoelen. Door gebruik te maken van specifieke kleuren staat elke stoel symbool voor iemand die de Sikkens prijs in de afgelopen 50 jaar heeft gewonnen. Alle typografie is geplaatst in 50pt (Helvetica) Bold.
